American Folklore Theatre Announces Name Change for 2015 Season
Beginning officially in 2015 and coinciding with AFT's 25th anniversary,
American Folklore Theatre (AFT) will debut a new company name.
Announcing Our 2014 Season
The 2014 Summer Season runs from June 11 until August 23 at the Amphitheater in Peninsula State Park and will feature the world premiere of Strings Attached, in rotating repertory with AFT favorites Packer Fans from Outer Space and Guys on Ice. The Fall Season will debut The Bachelors for the first time at the Door Community Auditorium.
Strings Attached, a world premiere commissioned by AFT and written by Dave Hudson and Colin Welford, is described as a "tuneful tale of tangled twins." In this case, one twin ends up a ukulele fanatic in Hawaii while the other becomes part of a family banjo dynasty in Wisconsin. The two worlds intertwine in musical merriment and mayhem at a northern Wisconsin lodge.
Tickets for both the summer and fall season will go on sale April 1st, 2014.
Humble yet polished, hopeful, yet not sentimental, historical yet hysterical...
That's the oddball wonder we call AFT. In our little corner of the woods, those ominous rumblings about the Death of American Musical Theatre are drowned out by the footfalls of 40,000 loyal fans strolling down the path in Fish Creek's Peninsula State Park each summer to laugh and cry with our merry players under the newborn stars. Thousands more join us each season for our intimate Fall Season shows presented at historic Door County town halls.
